LRH lecture 4 March 1952 HCL Spec 4 - Discovery of Facsimile
One
"Well, I studied and I thought and I studied and I thought and
figured and figured and ... You know, the first thing I knew, I saw
the machine dive on "before time." It says, "before time." "Has
anything ever happened before time?" - wondering whether or not
somebody might not be pre-aberrated. And the machine just started
going crazy. "Before time."
"Did something happen before time? Did somebody aberrate us
before time?" And all of a sudden you get this horrible picture,
this horrible idea of maybe this is hell and once we lived in
heaven, and somebody came along and picked us up and said, "Mmm.
You're a bad 'un!" took us before a tribunal or a council and then
dumped us on the chute and we arrived here on Earth. Crash. Well,
this is not very solid. But the lady went off the top of the dial on
running the first part of it. The first time I've ever seen anybody
go off a psychometer, all the way up, off the top. And we only ran
just a little bit of it."
LRH lecture 15 April 1952 HCL-23 Theta Bodies
"So, the second manifestation is longer - more or less the same
thing, but longer and more erratic. And that is sort of
way-back-on-the-track aliveness! Of the aliveness associated with
the early days of life in the MEST universe or just before the MEST
universe, because there was another universe once. And we are older,
much older as a race, than the MEST universe. The MEST universe is
only about 3.4 (something like that) billion years old, and anybody
here is older than that. Alright."
"So I'm not quite sure who wanted us to have this body. That's a
lie; I am EXACTLY sure at this point, but I'm not going to tell you
right now. (laughter)"
LRH lecture HCL-21 Anatomy of the Theta Body
“Now, I'm not talking now in terms of all the incidents there
are. You see, each one of these has had an experience before it
joins up as this first composite, and we'll call this first
composite a personality, something of the sort.
Now, here you have, then, the basic unit of two. Back of that
these two have broken away from the main body of theta, two or three
minor incidents have occurred, and we get down to this basic unit of
two. That's joiner one.
Usually one faces forward and one faces back. They are put
together face to face. Now, these are outside of any universe that
we know about; they begin outside of any universe that we know
about. And they have the potentialities of goals. And each one
probably has a slightly different goal than the other one, so that
you get a good balance between the two. They have agreed on what
their goals are, and they've also agreed that their goals are
different - some slight degree.
We come down the line a little bit further and we get joiner one,
which is the first possibility of a body and this is another
universe than the MEST universe again, usually. And I am now
describing an average line, a line which you might find varying
considerably from preclear to preclear. But your added three permit
the first two to have a body. And this body, possibly, has many
descriptions - you can get it variously described - but it doesn't
have perceptions, really, as we know perceptions, because you still
have theta body awareness of immortality and continuance and
perceiving.
Now, on the entrance into the MEST universe, there is an
additional addition.”
LRH lecture 16 April 1952 HCL-27 How To Search For Incidents on
the Track, Part I
“The cycle of lives is itself used as a control factor. One of
these ten cycles here, any one of them, was primarily interested in
controlling the individual so as to make him apply force in a body
toward some work being accomplished. Now, those cycles in control
gradually got to a point where they found out a new method of
control. They say, "Well, you only live one life, and you forget
every other life that you ever lived." And as a result, you have to
survive.”
“Now here, when we entered the MEST universe, we got "survive."
Right there. At that point of entrance, one was told he had to
survive. But this was survive as a consecutive body line or survive
because of a purpose. And we get way, way down here close in to
present time, something of the sort, and we got survive - this is
the lowest order of being - survive as a present time body for the
sake of the body.
Now, there are your states of being on a Tone Scale. There at the
top, you belong, individuate and decide to be. Then, as you come
into the MEST universe, you decide to survive over a long period of
line toward certain things or cause certain survivals. And then away
down here you get survival as a present time body just for the sake
of that body. Now, that's really decayed.”
“And your first is your individuation. Sometimes there's an
individuation of one and then an individuation of another one and
its unition: they unite with different goals to do something, and
the next thing you know, they decide to be and they go into home
universe, a creative thing, and they're all very fine. And one day
out of curiosity, adventurousness or something of the sort - or by
getting sort of pulled out of it - they all of a sudden wind up in
the MEST universe.
And we all seem to have more or less entered the MEST universe,
thetawise, through the same hole. But then there's a distinct
possibility that there are MEST universe people who are older than
this level or formed differently than this. That distinct
possibility faces you.”
LRH lecture 6 November 1952 Methods of Research - The Thetan as
an Energy Unit
“Now, let's look at the basic condition of our thetan and let's
follow, very rapidly here, right straight through what he probably
does. He's sitting there and he's part of (quote) "the main body of
theta," and for some reason or other he starts setting up his own
universe. We're not quite sure why. Maybe there is no reason. Maybe
he just sets up his own universe. Maybe he got set up and then he
set up his own universe. Lord knows what. And the universe which he
set up was set up with an unlimited - no arbitraries, except those
which he imposed upon it himself and well knew that he imposed upon
it. So he set up this universe.”
“All right. We take a universe with no sound in it - very
interesting; how would you communicate? Well, all right, let's
communicate with light beams.
Let's don't just interchange ideas or flows or something of the
sort; let's have communication in that universe, only let's have
light beams and people imagine a screen and imagine the light on the
screen and the light plays back and forth across the screen and that
communicates ideas. But, gee, do you know what that means? That
means the people of that universe would have to have the power of
creating energy! Oh, and to a craven, cowardly, sort of a stupid -
not even a craven, cowardly fellow, but just a dull, stupid kind of
a fellow, like the kind of a fellow that'd create the MEST universe
- that would be unthinkable! Because that's probably his highest
trick.”
“Well, that's kind of like the MEST universe. The guy who thought
this one up, thought this one up this wise: "Let's see, I can't
think up anything but this one thing - that's force. Force. I've got
a pretty good idea that there are other universes around, and if
this force suddenly goes through my time and I keep changing the
time of the force, it'll pick up all these other universes and blow
these good ideas into this universe, because every time this force
connects with any universe, of course it'll explode it or
something." He'd think of this one trick, this one stupid trick that
anybody could think of, you see. Force. That's the easy one. That's
the easiest idea to think of.”
“And all of a sudden, one day, you were sitting there in your own
universe and it went kapow! Gee, it'd startle you. And it would
probably contain sound and electrical explosion.
And that's the common denominator of fear: force wave with sound.
If you want to scare anybody, use a force wave with sound and you've
got it.
People are very troubled about sound - much more troubled than
they are about light. That tells them they couldn't handle sound. So
maybe they held on to this and they decided they'd study what this
blast was. And they might be holding on to it ever since. They might
be trying to protect their own universe from the blast. The last
fleeting moment of "It was all theirs," and they never got the
moment of transition. And then they thought the blast had changed
their universe around; they were in another universe.”
“There's separation from theta, you get a bop - home universe -
or you get a little rise and everything was very fine. And then all
of a sudden, there was the MEST universe - the home universe was
gone. And you'll get him thinking, "Oh, my, my. I wonder if I - I
wish I... wish I knew what the secret of the MEST universe was."
There isn't any secret to the MEST universe: that was its secret.
The secret of the MEST universe is you can create a MEST universe
any time you want to. But if you held on to and tried to grab hold
of and stop the encroachment of the MEST universe, not just change
your wavelength - if it happened in your time-space suddenly enough
- you're here. And if you let it go on by and to hell with it and
just shifted over in another time span, you've got your own universe
someplace else and you're not here. The essence, the very essence of
simplicity.”
“There's no secret. What's the secret of the MEST universe? That
there's no secret, of course! That would be right there in the
groove with the MEST universe, that would be the MEST universe's
best trick. It makes the obvious and hides it, because it's a crude,
relatively unworkable, solid, rather onerous sort of a dopehead's
dream, who wasn't too bright.”
